ASAP Inc. Reliability,
Service Emerge as Hallmarks, Say Customers
CRANBERRY TWP., PA. (March 30, 2006)-In an industry
where change is rapid and adaptability is a competitive
differentiator, customers of Automated
Systems in Aircraft Performance - or ASAP, Inc.
- affirm that the company stands out among the airline
industry as champions of those qualities. ASAP
provides comprehensive pre-flight data in paper manual
and electronic flight bag software formats, for runway
analysis and weight & balance calculations. In addition,
according to its customers, ASAP
also provides an uncommonly high level of service and
reliability.
"ASAP is one of the
few places you can call and talk with the president
at any time for any situation," said Al Parris,
Dispatch Manager for Maxjet, an ASAP
airline client that utilizes the "Star"
pre-flight calculation software. "The software
is cool, and is very easy to train on. But beyond that,
I've been very pleased with how responsive the people
at ASAP are to our many
requests for changes in the program. That's the most
critical point. We are bringing on a new aircraft and
making modifications along the way, which required totally
new programming from ASAP,
and they have expertly put it together. They are very
customer savvy."
Bud Davis, recently retired Manager of Engineering for
Pace Airlines, which used ASAP's paper manuals for its
pre-flight calculations, echoed the Maxjet experience,
saying, "ASAP always responded promptly to our
many rush jobs and requests. We never had a problem
with them. I always felt that if ASAP
said they'd have something to you on a certain date,
it would happen every time. We had a tough FAA audit
one year. The first thing they asked for was our weight
& balance documentation. We showed them our manual
from ASAP, they looked
at it for about a minute and said, 'Looks good to me.'
That said a lot."

Airways Purchases Leading-Edge ASAP Inc. Electronic
Flight Bags
Unique Software Reduces Human
Input by 653%, Eliminates Variables
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA (July 5, 2005)-World Airways,
an Atlanta-based leading international passenger and
cargo charter business, has purchased STAR, specialized
electronic flight bag software that calculates runway
analysis, weight and speed of aircraft, atmospheric
conditions and other critical metrics, from ASAP,
Inc.
The software is the latest innovation from ASAP
(Automated Systems in Aircraft
Performance, Inc.), which specializes
in making flight preparations more reliable, efficient
and profitable for 30 of the company's airline clients.
"Pre-flight calculations are all done by hand today,
using on-board manuals," explained Cecil Teets,
ASAP president. "With
our product, airlines load more with greater accuracy.
Electronic updates eliminate printed manual change-outs."
The ASAP software - controlled by laptop touch-screen
prompts for ease of operation - accurately assesses
FAA penalties. Automatic weight and balance calculations
tell how and where to load the aircraft, and electronically
store FAA-required reports. World Airways committed
to test the ASAP software,
with plans to expand its use.
"By receiving the dispatcher's briefing before
getting on the plane, you don't have to make those calculations
while everything is happening all around you, which
greatly improves pre-flight operations," said Mike
Bakken, head of Special Projects at World Airways. "FAA-required
calculations took hours to do, and by the time you got
your results, the temperature and wind might have changed
anyway. We have seen a 653 percent reduction of human
inputs with the ASAP system.
Instead of a variable, this becomes a constant because
we are reducing human input, achieving higher accuracy
and compliance in less time, and seeing better on-time
takeoff rates.
"The ASAP software
makes information available at headquarters instantly,"
Bakken said. "The same plane may make multiple
stops, and it's good to know what's on the plane to
gauge what to remove and how much can be put on. The
system is already intuitive, we're working with ASAP
to make it more intuitive as a truly worldwide system."
The ASAP software provides
historical records to help airlines adjust sales, marketing,
pricing, distribution, and flight assignments, said
Teets.
"We did a study that showed eight out of 10 flights
made calculation errors when doing it manually,"
he said. "There's a real need to remove this costly
variable."
